Polyx®-Oil white oils are designed to reduce/slow down the natural yellowing of timber. They each contain a quantity of white pigment, which may slow down the yellowing of the wood from UV light. Depending on the strength of pigment, the effect on the timber will range from nearly invisible to a soft white. They are best suited for use on light coloured timbers such as Oak, Pine, Macrocarpa, Spruce, Douglas Fir (Oregon) etc. Also ideal for use on light coloured plywoods such as Plytech Birch Elite etc.
White tints are not recommended for use on darker timbers such as jarrah, kwila, teak and heart rimu etc, as the oil may give the timber a white chalky appearance.
We recommend doing a test first to determine suitability. 5ml test sachets are available to purchase from this website.

Polyx®-Oil white oils are easy to apply. Any of the 3 oils can be used as a one coat primer onto bare timber, followed by 1 or 2 coats of Polyx®-Oil clear in your preferred sheen level. The oil should be buffed/rubbed evenly into the timber’s grain making the white effect even and harmonious – ranging from nearly invisible to a soft white depending on the product used.
Depending on your perception of the finish, a second coat of white can be applied for a stronger coloured effect.
Once the white oil is dry, a top coat of Polyx®-Oil clear can be applied.
