Polyx®-Oil Tints is normal Polyx®-Oil which contains a small amount of coloured tint. It should not be considered as a product for deep staining of your timber, but as a finish which will create a light, even colour tone to the timber’s grain. For example, the Polyx®-Oil white tint, will reduce the yellowness of a timber such as macrocarpa, as well as reducing variations in grain colour to provide a more harmonious finish.
Suitable for use on timber floors and furniture and general interior timbers such as sarking, doors and paneling. Polyx®-Oil Tints is suitable for use on timbers to which normal Oil can be applied. It is not recommended for use on timbers with high oil and resin content such as Matai, Totara, Kwila or Spotted Gum.
Normally, one coat of Polyx®-Oil Tints is applied, followed by one coat of clear Polyx®-Oil (Gloss, Satin, Semi Matt or Matt). 2 coats of Polyx®-Oil Tints can be applied as a stand alone finish without the need for a clear top coat.
Where a stronger colour is required, we recommend using either OSMO Woodwax Finish or Oil Stain rather than Polyx®-Oil Tints.
Polyx Oil Natural 3041 has a light white transparent matt finish.
In all cases a trial test to determine suitability is recommended.
