Polyx®-Oil Express is a fast drying clear finish Polyx®-Oil for professional users. Designed specifically for oily and resinous timbers such as Matai, Spotted Gum, Heart Rimu, Totara and Kwila etc. Also recommended for use in wet areas, and areas where time is an issue – such as restaurants, cafes and public places. Normally, 2 coats can be applied in one day / overnight meaning less downtime for the restaurant.
A professional, very fast drying, clear finish, when combined with the Polyx®-Oil Express Hardener. Normally, a 150ml bottle of hardener is added to a 2.5 litre can of Polyx®-Oil Express. The ratio for hardener to a 750ml can is approximately 40ml of hardener per 750ml. This will give a pot life of approximately 90 minutes under normal climatic conditions. When adding the hardener, the Polyx®-Oil Express finish will be dry in approximately 1-2 hours. Adding less hardener will extend the pot life and lengthen the drying time.
Polyx®-Oil Express is suitable for use on all timbers, and may be used with or without the hardening additive. Simple application – no primers or sanding between coats. The microporous surface will not crack, peel, flake or blister. The finish is safe for humans, animals and plants once fully cured.
Application by Osmo’s 220mm floor brush or microfibre floor roller.
Note: When using a 10 litre of Express, the ratio of hardener is 4 x 150ml per 10 litre. Be certain you are able to use the whole 10 litres within 1-2 hours before the oil “goes off”. The recommendation would be to decant the 10 litre drum into suitable clean metal cans prior to use.
